API Server Access - This weekend

We're currently experiencing a larger than usual number of requests
to some of our API servers which is degrading site performance for
a small number of our users.
To ensure good network performance to all sites while we investigate this matter, we have decided to restrict access from some locations that are causing high load.
For any developer wishing to retain their API access for the next few days, please contact support@socialgo.com and send us the IP address of your service that will be calling our API servers. We will temporarily add these to our exclusion list to allow your service to continue running.

Sorry we've been a little quiet!

Hey Guys!
Sorry we have been a little quiet recently on the Owners' Network! We have been in a busy period of moving into our new data center, settling into our new office and feaverishly planning and developing the service.
In the next few weeks we will be releasing some new features as well as upgrading some old ones. More information will be posted on the blog!

New Data Centre Move

Our data centre move is largely complete now, so we hope you and
your members will start to experience much better page speeds as a
result.
The move was a mamouth project that took over two months. It went well................... except for the final 10 days. As a result we appreciate that some networks over the past 10 days have experienced occassional issues such as error pages and some functionality mis-behaving. We are truly sorry for this and have worked 24/7 to rectify these issues.
While its of little comfort when you and your members are experience these problems, we can assure you that everything will be back to normal soon, if its not already. We hope the dramatically improved page speeds you will now experience will be worth these short term bumps.
Once again very sorry for the the recent issues.

Using a custom domain with your network? Read this!

If you have a custom domain on your SocialGO network you
must change
your custom domain settings within the next 7 days to ensure
uninterupted service to your network.
Please change the A Record from SocialGO's old A-Record to SocialGO's new A-Record as follows:
Old A-Record IP : 92.60.117.57
New A-Record IP: 84.22.170.149
You change the A-Record at your domain name registrar (the person who you registered your domain with). You should find this option under DNS Settings or Advanced Settings on the website of your domain registrar.
You must do this because we have changed data centres to improve the speed of your network and in 7 days will turn off the old data centre that your custom domains has previously been pointing to.
If you have any questions just e-mail us on support@socialgo.com.

Free Free Free Widgets Galore!
By Tom RMany network owners are yet to install some free widgets we have recently placed in the Widget Store. In particular GO IM,GO Chatroom and GO Profile Designer can help bring your network alive and keep your members coming back.
GO IM is a Facebook-esque instant messaging chat system that can dramatically increase the stickiness of your network by allowing your members to better interact with each other. GO Chatroom allows your members to interact en mass and then peel off into private conversations. GO Profile Designer lets your members create crazy designs just for their profiles. So don't waste another second - get over to the Widget Store and install these free widgets now.
To install GO IM ...Head to its page in the Widget Store and click
'Add Widget'. Then simply drag it into the left
sidebar in your Layout Manager. Easy!
To install GO Chatroom ...

Check it out in the Widget Store and select 'Add Widget'. You can then drag it onto any page through the Layout Manager!
This widget is pre-installed on all Premium and Concierge networks. Simply click the 'My Profile'
tab in the Layout Manager and drag it across.

New Home

SocialGO is growing up! As the team continues to expand (we are at 25 now), we have been forced out of our rather small home on Rivington Street in Shoreditch, London.
Our new location is being prepared (above) and we will be moving in next week. The floor is being varnished and the IT systems installed as we speak.
We will be running some events from our new office in the coming months for our local network owners. Stay tuned!

GO IM is unavailable during maintenance

Just a quick notice to say that GO IM is currently down for
maintenance and will be back online tomorrow morning.
We will be taking this service out of BETA in the next few weeks as it becomes a core part of the SocialGO offering and we release added features including games, group chat and more.
Thanks for your patience. More news coming this week.
GOIM is operating normally for all SocialGO networks. It was unavailable for 16 hours while maintenance was completed.

GO IM Speed Improvements

Hey Guys,
While GO IM has been in BETA we have been monitoring usage and have noticed that the load times over the weekend where not ideal.
We have isolated the issue and believe things to be vasty improved . Please let us know if you have further connection issues or unresponsiveness.
More features being added soon to GO IM and GO Chat Room coming soon!
We have had some issues with the content servers over the weekend which causes CSS and images to load intermittently. We are in the process of migrating content to a new CDN which will be completed in the next 14 days which will eradicate the issues experienced over the weekend.

- On the "Overview" page click on "Change My Plan".
- At the bottom of the page click on "Upgrade" and choose the Concierge plan.
- Fill in your credit card details and click on "Add Card Details" to complete the upgrade.
- Now that you have upgraded, go visit the 'Widget Store' to decide which widgets you want
- Email concierge@socialgo.com with your network name and the widget(s) you want.
