We'd like to wish all our users a VERY happy New Year, and all the best for 2009!

2008 has been an incredible year for SocialGO, especially the last month or so, and we couldn't have done it without all the feedback and support from our members - so thanks!

We've got lots of exciting things planned for 2009, and can't wait to get started in the new year!

      It Just Keeps Growing

Published by: Alex H on Wednesday 31st December 2008 10:12am

Welcome to all the new networks and users that have been signing up over the last week (and especially yesterday with traffic up 30% overnight).

You will be pleased to hear that loads of new servers have arrived and should be up and running in the next 48 hours.  This will help speed things up even more and rectify the intermittent speed issues at peak times.

      Uploading Media Improvements

Published by: Alex H on Tuesday 30th December 2008 09:12am

Thanks to everyone for the feedback on the intermittent uploading photos/videos/music problem.  We are totally focused on the problem at the moment.  No holidays for us I'm afraid!

We did a lot of work on it yesterday and made significant progress.  In fact some of the uploading problems that you may have experienced yesterday were the result of us having to test a few things in the live environment in order to simulate the huge server loads currently being experienced.  While we made big improvements we have a few more things to sort today and hopefully everything will be back on track soon.

      Traffic Keeps on Growing

Published by: Alex H on Monday 29th December 2008 01:09pm

Hope everyone is having a great break.  By the looks of it most of you are spending it on SocialGO.  Our traffic over the weekend went crazy and the service held up well.  There may have been some brief periods when things slowed a little, ie when America woke up.  Good morning America!

We have had a few uploading problems with video/photos/music/layouts but a fix is close.  Thanks for your patience.

All this traffic has been great to really stress test the platform and we are confident that you will quickly get an even better service as a result of all your feedback.  Keep it coming!

      Have a great Holiday!

Published by: Alex H on Tuesday 23rd December 2008 05:12pm

Hi everyone, just a quick note to say that we are continuing to make good strides in server performance and speed! (With a big improvement today!) Additional servers are coming online constantly and we are working hard to prepare for our January release which has been delayed due to the recent influx of new networks.

Hope you all have a great holiday and we look forward to a fantastic 2009 on SocialGO.

      3. You may want to enter a message, such as 'This network is no longer active on SocialGO', so your members know the network is being deleted.

      5. Return to the 'Maintenance mode' section at the bottom, and you will see an 'Access Key' has been generated.

      6. In the URL for your admin center, you will notice a code, between 3 and 5 digits long. This is your 'Network ID', an ID number unique to your network.

      7. Copy the Access Key and Network ID number in to an e-mail, along with your network url (i.e. owners.socialgo.com) and owner's e-mail address, and e-mail 'cancellations@socialgo.com' with these details, from the registered owner's e-mail address. The e-mail should look like this:

Once you have sent these details, we will delete your network within 24 to 48 hours.

Published by: Alex H on Wednesday 17th December 2008 11:12pm

Although we will not be taking the service down, there will be an intermittent image service over the next few hours while we migrate images over to our new infrastructure.

Sorry for the inconvenience. Please stand by while we update.

Update Thursday AM : Normal image service should now resume.

      Intermittent Speed Issues Update

Published by: Alex H on Wednesday 17th December 2008 10:12am

Yesterday morning some networks in the US may have experienced some intemittent speed issues whilst we continued to optimise the code base.  We think we have made some huge in-roads later in the day and expect you will see significant improvements in speed quality, especially during high traffic periods from here on.  Please don't hesitate to drop us a note if you do experience any further problems.  Cheers

      Monday Update

Published by: Alex H on Monday 15th December 2008 12:02pm

We continue to make good progress in increasing platform speed. New servers are about 2 weeks away, and we are preparing a major code update coming in the next day or so which will greatly optimize the platform. You should already have seen an improvement in page load times and hopefully this will continue to get better in the coming days.

Thanks goes to all you guys for your patience. The amazing uptake of the service will be good for everyone in the long term and we have an exciting 6 months ahead of us.
