How to set up member billing

One of the optional extra features of a SocialGO Premium Package is the Member Billing feature. This feature allows you to charge members to access your site. You choose if payment is required or optional, and if it's a single or continuous payment. You can choose to bill your members in U.S. Dollars, British Pounds Sterling, or Euros. Extremely simple, all you need is a PayPal account.

1. Go to 'Membership Billing' in your Admin. Center.

2. Tick the box next to 'Membership payment' to enable payment.

3. Next to 'Payment Option', choose whether you want payment to be required or optional.

4. In the box next to 'Subscription name', name your subscription as to identify it with PayPal.

7. If you choose 'ongoing subscription', next to 'Charge duration' select the duration of which you want your members billed.

Do you know what type of paypal account should we have to enable continous billing? Any idea how much paypal charges, say I charge $100 a month for membership?

    Hi manilaboy,

I believe I answered your question at support@socialgo.com - in the event it wasn't a question from you, my answer is you must contact PayPal for the answers you're seeking. I'm sorry I can't be of any more help in regards to this issue.

    Hey ezravan,

You've always been able to charge existing members - through the Admin. Center go to the 'Manage Members' tab & individually set your existing members' statuses to 'Payment Pending'.

    I hope this helps!

Will this member billing be more robust in near future? I would like to offer two different membership options and restrict and or make certain pages on the site available in accordance with the level of membership?

    Will this be possible?

Hey PDP - sorry for the delay in reply. I've been on vacation and just noticed this notification in my box. The answer to your question - yes. Absolutely. This is on the map for sure; however, I don't have even a vague date to provide you of when this will occur (not in the too distant future though), but we are aware this is vital to a lot of owners, so we will implement a more sophisticated member billing feature.
